Of course – with the Natural Forest Conservation Program (NFCP). With this program, anybody can make a difference. We want to create change in the world, by increasing the awareness for the fundamental importance of forests. That’s why we created this program – for more natural forests and to protect them more efficiently.
Why should you get active?
It’s simple – by doing so, you not only support the protection of existing natural forests and the further reforestation of forests, but you also contribute to the protection of the climate and secure a permanent home for many animal and plant species.
The rainforests of Costa Rica are among the biodiversity hotspots of the world. The biodiversity here is particularly high – and its protection all the more important! Five percent of all animal and plant species on our planet live here: jaguars, capuchin monkeys, tapirs, and countless bird species. But forests fulfill even more roles: they are soil improvers, rain makers, and carbon sinks – all in one.

NATURAL FOREST PRESERVER TREE SPONSORSHIP
With the purchase of a Natural Forest Preserver sponsorship you not only become part of our conservation program, but you will also sponsor a tree in the protected natural forest on our farm Finca La Virgen and thus become part of our Natural Forest Conservation Program.
Support the preservation of biodiversity, bind carbon, store water, and protect the climate – with a small sum you can make a big difference. With the purchase of a Natural Forest Preserver sponsorship, 7-10 new tropical trees will be planted, depending on the tree species and location. In addition, your contribution can significantly help to protect existing natural forest elsewhere.
With your contribution as a tree sponsor, you become symbolical owner of your own tree in our protected natural forest on Finca La Virgen. A detailed description of the tree species, its characteristics, and carbon storage capacity is also part of the overall package – as well as a name plaque attached to your tree. In addition, you will receive a certificate with a picture and the GPS data of your tree, so you can visit it on site. So simple – so effective.
Our Finca La Virgen is ideal for your tree sponsorship, it borders directly to the famous National Park Braulio Carillo as well as the river San Ramón.
Your tree is therefore in good company – embedded in our
NFCP-Path.

The NFCP Path
The NFCP path is a one-of-a-kind novelty in Costa Rica and Central America. It enables visitors to experience the forest, its climate, and the existing biodiversity in the flesh. This educational forest experience trail is located on our Finca La Virgen and leads through the reforestations within our managed cultivated forest as well as the natural forest. Scattered along the path are the trees of our tree sponsors – the Natural Forest Preservers.
The path playfully conveys the importance of forests to interested investors, travelers, but also to children and school classes. Info points along the trail provide knowledge about reforestation projects’ function as important carbon sinks, about biodiversity, native and partly endangered tree species, and the working methods of BaumInvest.

By doing this, the trail offers an impressive way to experience the functions of the forest ecosystem and educates on the complexities of restoring forest landscapes. But the best is yet to come – at the end of the trail, visitors reach a beautiful waterfall, which invites to have a cooling swim.
In the near future, a second path along a big river running through our primeval forest with access to more waterfalls will be developed. In addition, a cooperation with the school of San Ramón is currently being implemented so that the NFCP path can become accessible to school classes as an environmental education opportunity. In this way, the important relationship between those children and nature can be fostered from an early age.
