Financial year 2025: A year marked by stability, growth, and impact
We look back on a successful financial year: In 2025, BaumInvest AG once again increased its net income and reported retained earnings for the first time. This was made possible by the complete elimination of accumulated losses carried forward—an important milestone following years of consistent growth.
Annual Shareholders’ Meeting Held Digitally Once Again
Our Annual General Meeting took place on July 13, 2026, for the third time in the tried-and-true digital format. Following opening remarks by Supervisory Board Chair Gudrun Welsch, Executive Board Member Antje Virkus provided an overview of BaumInvest AG’s development. The 2025 fiscal year was characterized by the key themes of stability, growth, and impact, marking another important step forward for the company.

Strong Results and a Growing Project Portfolio
BaumInvest AG successfully continued on its growth trajectory. Revenue rose by 43.7 percent compared to the previous year, reaching approximately 4.62 million euros. Net income increased to approximately 587,000 euros. This marks the fourth consecutive year that BaumInvest AG has posted a positive net income.
The project portfolio was also further expanded. At year-end, it totaled 12,470 hectares, of which 8,716 hectares were in Colombia and 3,754 hectares in Costa Rica. In Colombia alone, approximately 4.3 million seedlings were planted across 3,965 hectares in 2025.
Later in the Annual General Meeting, progress in the areas of sustainable forestry and Carbon offset projects was presented. Dr. Anja Nölte, Head of Forestry & Certification Strategy, provided an overview of the key operational developments in Costa Rica and Colombia.
Positive Progress on Projects in Costa Rica
In Costa Rica, the focus was on maintenance measures and infrastructure, the third comprehensive forest inventory, and performance certification of Gold Standard areas.
As part of the inventory, a total of 13,725 trees were measured across 668 sample plots. The results confirmed the positive growth of the stands: The timber volume of the tree species Cebo, Almendro, and Guapinol increased—depending on the species—by 10.9 to 29.0 percent compared to the previous year.
In addition, a total of 66,829 Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) were confirmed for a five-year monitoring period. This represents approximately 35 percent more than originally planned.
The Carbon offset projects in Costa Rica also continued to progress as planned. The focus was on implementing the forest management plan, selective replanting, and extensive maintenance measures. Promising results were documented for the first time in the pilot project on assisted natural regeneration in Chamorro.
Millions of New Seedlings in Colombia
Project development in Colombia also continued successfully. In the Flor Morado project area, the transition from the implementation phase to the maintenance phase took place in El Veraneo. At Punta Hermosa and Moriche Solo, planting was completed and the young stands continued to be maintained.
At the same time, the La Catorce and La Ilusión sites in the Flor Saphira project area began their first year of implementation. To this end, approximately 2.9 million seedlings were produced in two nurseries in 2025 and planted on the project sites.

First-Ever Retained Earnings
In the subsequent financial report, Heiko Rock, Head of Group & Strategy, explained the 2025 annual financial statements and the proposal for the appropriation of earnings.
Equity totaled 43.07 million euros at year-end, with an equity ratio of approximately 73.5 percent.
After fully offsetting the accumulated loss carryforwards, BaumInvest AG was able to report a net income of 73,999.50 euros for the first time. The Executive Board and Supervisory Board proposed that the remaining amount of 70,299.52 euros, after setting aside the statutory retained earnings, be carried forward in full to new accounts.
Institutional Perspectives on the Carbon Removal Market
In addition, Fabio Ferrari, CEO of aDryada—with which BaumInvest has entered into a project development partnership—provided insight into current developments in the international market for nature-based Carbon offset projects from the perspective of institutional investors.
The goal of the collaboration is to jointly evaluate the areas where synergies may arise in the development of high-quality Carbon offset projects. In doing so, Fabio Ferrari highlighted the requirements that institutional investors currently place on quality, scalability, and professional project development.

Widespread Approval from Shareholders
Following this, the shareholders voted on the agenda items of the Annual General Meeting.
99.85 percent of the represented share capital approved the proposal for the appropriation of net income. The Executive Board was granted discharge with 99.85 percent, and the Supervisory Board with 99.84 percent.
The results for the 2025 fiscal year demonstrate that BaumInvest AG successfully combines economic stability, sustainable growth, and a measurable environmental impact. Building on this foundation, the company will continue to systematically develop its existing projects and further advance the expansion of high-quality reforestation and carbon removal projects.
